Marie Vagen - comic, compere - deadpan delivery, eclectic material peppered with intelligent, silly, sharp punchlines.

Marie performed at the Edinburgh Fringe 2010 in the standup show 'JAM for Tea' and in 'Parental Guidance' at the Brighton Fringe 2010.

In addition to standup, Marie has been acting (as The Professor) in a taster for a web sitcom, 'Katy And Rach Go Transdimensional' a series for which she will also write.

Marie is currently working on several other projects, including writing a radio sitcom series about Christmas; writing a comedy feature film about a man who, on Christmas eve, tries to kill his ex-wife with a home-made car bomb; and writing a romcom novel about the art of living.

Marie was born in Stavanger, Norway. She has happily lived in several European countries, and now lives in London where she feels at home.

Marie is available for gigs, appearances, interviews and writing work.

Brilliant, a must see! Really relaxed, warm and very funny, it seemed almost effortless. Marie Vagen was quirky and unusual, doing jokes in Norwegian that cracked me up even before they were translated. allthefestivals.com rating 5/5

The totally deserving winner of the night, who will go through to the Funny Women Final, was Marie Vagen. Her set was beautifully pitched and her performance confident, assured and well crafted. It was great to see a winner with such a unique voice, that didn't resort to age old female comic stereotypes

Loosely based around the things our parents tell us to keep us on the straight and narrow, this was a highly entertaining evening of comedy from three bright female comics. First up was Funny Women competition finalist Marie Vagen, whose tales of her Norwegian parents phone calls and specialist subject of philosophy warmed us up nicely even if they did stray off the chosen theme.
